New Allergy Patient Visit

  • Please allow 60-90 minutes for a New Patient Visit
  • Wear comfortable clothing. Allergy testing may be performed on the back or arms. Please avoid one piece outfits if possible.
  • Please avoid antihistamines for 72 hours before your visit. Many over-the-counter cold, sinus, and allergy medications contain antihistamines (which can block the skin test response). List of antihistamines.
  • During allergy skin testing, a small amount of an allergen is placed on the skin and is pricked with a skin testing device. This procedure is relatively painless. The number and type of allergens to be tested for is determined by the physician after performing a detailed medical history.
  • Do not stop any asthma medications or other prescription medications prior to your visit.
  • Please limit any perfumes, colognes, or other scented products during your visit.
  • Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions regarding which medications to stop.
  • Please bring filled out forms
